Belgian Africa ((フランス語:Afrique belge), (オランダ語:Belgisch Afrika)) is a term sometimes used to refer to the regions of Central Africa which once formed part of the Belgian colonial empire, usually in a historical or political context. Historically, the term refers to: *Belgian Congo (1908-1960) *Ruanda-Urundi (1922-1962) In modern parlance, the term may refer to the independent states of the former Belgian empire in a similar way to ''Françafrique'': *Democratic Republic of the Congo *Burundi *Rwanda
